Shooting mini-game

In the level where the boss is playing an old phonograph, find the three hidden watermelons. They are found in the following locations: just before going down to the wall of adobe buildings on the left; hidden in a deep gully; and on top of the mountains. Shoot all three of them to play a shooting gallery mini-game.

Hidden runestone

Start the level where you have to go to the log mill to kill the "Twins". Enter one of the rooms in the three gin distilleries at the start of the level that has a "table" constructed from a wood plank laying across barrels. Use dynamite to blows up one of the walls in that room to find a hidden area. Inside is a glowing purple Runestone.

Dark Age Of Camelot

Easy money

If you just started and you are a beginner, ask some of the people in your group that you start with for money. You might get some copper or perhaps even some gold. Note: This does not work if at a high level.

If you fight skeletons, snakes, giants, and other creatures, you might get some body parts, gems and other items to sell. Gems will give you a lot of money but body parts do not sell for as much.

Armor without paying

Find skeletons, and if you can, fight them. They will be yellow if beginners. You might get some armor or cloth.

Realms

You must at least be level 25 to fight in Realms or you will die very easily. If you are at level 20, fight in a group with your guild.

Coruscating Mine

In Coruscating Mine on the bridge, if you walk very slowly over the edge near the middle you can fall onto the side of the bridge. You can cast spells on opponents, and they cannot attack you.

Shrouded Isles

Shrouded Isles is the most difficult place to start at because people from other places like to run in there, find the weakest person, and attack them to get experience so they can progress. Also, Shrouded Isles has the most difficult people to raise up.

Darkness Falls

If you are a low level, do not enter Darkness Falls. It is recommended that your character be at least level 25 before entering Darkness Falls. The colors for levels in Darkness Falls is as follows:

Level 1 through 15: All purple

Level 16 through 20: Some red and a lot purple

Level 21 through 25: Some red and some purple

Level 26 through 30: A little Orange and some red and purple

Level 31 through 35: A few orange and some red and purple

Level 36 through 40: Some blue, less orange, red, and purple

Level 41 through 45: Some gray and blue

Level 46 through 49: A lot gray and a few blue

In level 15 there are yellows. If you look, there are yellows for every level in Darkness Falls from level 15 and above. Darkness Falls is one of the best places to hunt from level 15 and above, besides some select places where nice items drop.

Gaining levels

The fastest way to level is through PL (power leveling). Unfortunately this takes away from the point of the game. Also, it is hard to find someone to do it (either busy, crafting, or quitting etc.). The following areas are suggested. This applies for Midgard and "BG" indicates a battleground.

Level 1 through 5: Ft. Altla, Galpan, and Aheirs Landing

Level 6 through 7: Lions Den (BG), farther out from Ft. Atla

Level 8 through 11: Nisse's Layer (with strong group)

Level 12 through 14: Nisse's Layer (group),Weeping Willows by Gna Faste

Level 15 through 19: Deep Nisse (group)

Level 20 through 22: The Cursed Tomb (group recommended)

Level 23 through 25: Thidranki (BG)

Defeating Zombie Boss Bears

Wait until the Bear stands up on its hind legs before you shoot. Darien will then aim at the chest of the bear with the game's targeting system. If you are not hitting it in the chest, you are wasting valuable ammo. The difficult part is getting the bear to stand up on its hind legs. You must stay close to the bear, but not too close. Do this by aiming at the bear and walking around it. If you get too far away, the bear will run at you. By staying close and walking around the bear, its attacks will miss. After you have killed one, you get to do it again. Just use the same technique, and the two bears will be dead in no time.

Defeating Alien Troopers

Use the following trick to kill Alien Troopers without shooting. When the Alien Troopers jump in the air and levitate shortly doing nothing, they are about to charge at you, which may kill you in one hit. When they do this, move out of the way. When they charge and miss, there will be a moment where they are idle. Run up to them, grab, and throw them. This may be slightly difficult at certain angles. The moment you throw them they will die. Note: This was done on the Easy difficulty setting.

Defeating KPA soldiers

When you attack while in Cloak mode, you instantly lose all your energy. Instead, enable Armor mode (not Strength mode as this takes up energy when you attack), quickly shoot a soldier in the head, then go back to Cloak mode. They will not see you, and you will still have all your energy (you may even gain 1 to 3%). While you are transitioning to Armor mode, you will have a few seconds where you are still invisible to the enemy, which allows you to adjust if you are sniping. Even if you reach your time limit where you are invisible after turning off Cloak mode, you can still shoot around and might get away with not being seen as they sometimes panic and move around too much to notice you. You can use this to stay in a stationary location the A.I. does not touch and easily take out a large group, such as the area directly below a watch tower.

General strategies

You can get batsman out by bowling with a slow medium bowler and bowling shot of the length bowl (slower delivery).

With fast bowler you can bowl the good length bowl. The keeper will have no problems catching it. Keep the speed to almost full, but not full. Also, any swing will do.

Play straight and hit the six hit shot only when the bowl is near your half crease length or you see your stump flying towards the keeper.

Play in New Zealand's stadiums (especially Auckland). The grounds are small and it is easier to hit sixes there than anywhere else.

To get batsman out, just bowl a short pitched delivery with a medium pacer (Ganguly, Ponting) and keep the speed at no more than two or three lines. Keep the bowl in line with wickets. The batsman will eventually get bold or LBW.

Getting the opposition out faster

Try to bring the medium fast or medium bowler on. Then, place the bowling marker just short of the good length spot or even further down towards the bowler. Try inswing the ball or outswing but drop the speed to almost nothing. Keep the speed to two or three lines (yellow meter). The batsman will play a backfoot defensive shot and eventually get bowled or LBW. Another way of getting the batsman out quickly is bring the medium fast or fast bowler and try bowling inswing bouncer and place a fileder at deep thirdman for a catch. This trick only works when the batsman is new to the crease or tailenders.

Bring in a fast bowler (for example, McGrath) and aim a normal delivery behind either the middle or the off stump. Put the bar up to almost full power and let it rip. Most batters will swing and miss or be caught LBW.

Keeping the scoreboard moving or hitting some runs

Always bring the left handed batsman first and aim for the leg side boundary for a six hit shot; he will succeed a lot of the time. In test matches, do not rush for runs or you will get out very quickly. Place your innings and play the ball in the gaps.

Defeating Gabriel

Use your Dragon Breath gun to take away more life than any other gun you have.

Defeating Kang-ore

At the center of Hell's Library you will meet Kang-ore. This dragon will rise up from the center of the room and breathe fire as well as dive towards you. If you run around the room shooting him in the head with either The Crucifier or The Witches Curse he will die rather quickly.

Defeating the Behemoth

This Boss hits the ground and causes you to fall. He also has the ability to draw you closer to him. If you have an Amityville Screeching Beetle throw it at him and it will stun him, then use your Dragon Breath Flame Thrower to hit the red swell in the middle of his chest. That is his only weak point. If you do not have the Dragon Breath Flame Thrower, you can use any of your projectile weapons to make short work of this Boss. Note: You will encounter this Boss again in Hell's Museum, but use this same method to defeat him again.

Defeating the Vermin Demon

At about the end of the second level, you will find the Sangre de Dio. After you solve the puzzle to unlock the dagger, pick it up and Constantine will start talking to himself. After about five seconds, an intermission sequence will start and the Vermin Demon will start to form. When the fight starts, do not waste your bullets. Pick up the Amityville Screeching Beetle that is on the left wall when you enter the room, if you do not already have one. This is the only weapon that has any effect on the Demon. Throw the beetle at the demon so that it falls to the ground and takes effect faster. This will paralyze it. Then, get close to it and melee it once with your weapon. It will disintegrate. If you hit it again, the Vermin Demon will hurt you. Step back, and now you can start shooting. The Witch's Curse gives a lot of damage. When it starts to integrate again, go to True Sight so that you can find and pick up the beetle again. Throw it again and repeat the process.

Run up to the Vermin Demon and hit him a few times with your melee attack. He will burst into pieces of rats and bugs. Use The Crucifier, The Witches Curse, or Holy Shot Gun to shoot the rats and bugs. Repeat this every time he reforms and he will be sent back to hell. Note: You will have to fight this Boss again later in the game; he will be a little tougher, but use this same method to defeat him again.

Dancing with weapons

Disarm your weapon and set it on the [F1] to [F10] hotkeys. Then, press [Dance] and the [F1] to [F10] shortcut with the weapon together. You will get to dance with the weapon.

Look other direction when jumping

Jump in any direction then hold [Shift] and click in another direction. Your character will face the way you clicked, but still move in the direction of the jump. This has no real use except for entertainment.

Logging out

There are actually two ways to log out from the game. Press [Esc] and a box will appear, asking you if you want to exit. The other way is to click the "Setup" option, then click "Exit". The same box will appear.

Log out

Although there is no "log out" feature, there are many glitches in the game that will allow you to log out rather than closing the entire game and restarting it. Once such way for log out (or disconnect) is to jump as far as you can back and forth. Once in the air during a jump, quickly move the pointer back to where your character jumped from and click while you are still in the air. Keep doing that back and forth movement and you will eventually disconnect and be sent back to the log in screen. Another glitch has the same outcome, but a different way of applying it. First, go the "actions" and hotkey at least four of them (for example, [F5] for Wave, [F6] for Lie, [F7] for Cool, and [F8] for Sit). Start pressing all four of these hotkeys at the same time. Your character looks as if he or she is having a seizure, and you will get disconnected. These glitches are useful if you want to log out and relog in with another character.

Healing falling teammates

If one of your teammates falls to the ground, throw a smoke grenade near him. Then, get your health packet out and heal him.

Destroying armored vehicle or tanks

Use Jones to run up to the vehicle or tank. Lay an anti-tank mine next to it, in turn sacrificing jones Temporarily to take out the vehicle or tank.

Use Jones to run close to the tank, then plant a C4. Throw a smoke grenade on the tank, run for the nearest cover, then blow it up.

Have one of your team members run by the tank to distract it. Then, run up to the tank, plant C4, and blow it up (risking your life). You can heal him with the other team member.

Tanks are weak in the following locations: their rear; in front, in between the armor over the tracks; and where the gun barrel meets the turret.

Change soldier color

You can change the color of your soldier from white to black or black to white by blowing him up with a grenade and finishing the level. Note: He will lose experience -- do this early.

Easy stats

If you want Foley to calm himself faster in between shots with his sniper rifle, enable the "Cheat mode" code. Select a short and easy mission (such as Safe Passage, Special Delivery, etc.). It does not matter which team you choose (U.S. Delta Force or British SAS). Do these missions repeatedly about three times. Foley should get a level increase, be promoted a rank, get a Sniper skill star, and if your accuracy is high enough, a service medal. This trick only works if Foley gets over 65% accuracy on the missions.

Spreading out munitions

Do not give too much of the powerful items such as tank mines, C4, anti-tank guns, etc. to a single person. If you have this person advance and he gets taken down by a tank, your other teammates might not have the firepower needed to even get close to the downed person, let alone heal him. It is always a good idea to have each teammate equipped with at the least one high powered explosive in case you need to take something out.

Weak spots on tanks

All tanks have very heavy front and side armor. However, the tank's rear is lightly armored. Smaller tanks can be hit with a rocket almost anywhere and will usually explode. However, larger tanks must be attacked with an explosive from behind. If you shoot it from the front or side, chances are you will not even make a dent.

Last resort attack on tanks

If you need to take out a tank but have no more long range rockets, it is possible to get close to it without getting hit. First, you will need to have a sniper rifle to zoom in on the top of the tank to take out the gunner, if there is one. After he is down, throw a smoke bomb in the direction of the tank. Try to get the smoke bomb in as close to it as possible. While the smoke is in the air, you can run up to the tank without being hit. The smoke will make it impossible for the tank to see you. Get directly next to the tank and plant a C4 next to it. After it is planted, throw another smoke bomb slightly further away from the tank. Make a mad dash for the smoke. If you are fast enough, you will get behind the wall of smoke and can then make your way to safety. Then, detonate the C4. If you have C4 with a detonator, run to the tank, crouch, plant the C4, then quickly run away. When you get about 10 feet away, use the detonator to explode the C4.

Last resort attack on SCUDs

SCUDs can be blown up with the sniper rifle if they are in the launch position. Shoot the rocket a few times with it.

Charge the enemy

The game sends an infinite amount of troops after the alarm has been set. The best way to defend yourself is to charge ahead as fast, but also as safely, as possible. In some levels you can cut down the number of men by almost fifty. If you are low on ammunition, health, etc., this is a good way to cut down on the amount of men you have to deal with. It also works sometimes if you send a man far ahead and hold him there, then do your objectives for your mission.

Tank mines

On certain levels, tank mines can be truly annoying. Instead of getting your worst man to go out and run on the mines, throw a grenade on them and they should all explode.

AT mines

Use the following trick if you are tired of always stepping or driving over AT mines (Cavalry Charge is good for this). First, clear out the area of Iraqi infantry and armor. Set Foley and Conners up on a hilltop, either lying down or crouching, and have Jones and Bradley move in the area where the mines are placed. Have Bradley out of harms way, away from any explosives to cover Jones. If possible, have Jones move as far as possible into the minefield. Have him set a brick of C4, then run back out the way you came. Detonate the C4 and you will have an alley that your men and M2 tank can move through. If you are out of C4, frag grenades do the same thing, but do not have as much coverage as the C4.

Destroying heavy armor tanks

Find the man with C4s and give his detonator to someone else. Keep everyone back except for the man who has the C4. Quickly run to the tank and plant the C4. When you are finished, get another troop to call him back. When he runs back, the tank should be focused on him. Change to the man with the detonator and use it. If this works, everyone should make it out alive. However, if he does not make it, you can clear the area then heal him. Also, you can trick the tanks by using any of your men except the demolitions man and create a diversion on the side of the tank opposite to your team. Get the man next to the tank so that he will not be harmed, then switch to the demolitions man. While the tank is looking at the other man, sneak up to it, plant a C4 explosive, and run away.

Destroying helicopters

When a Hind appears, it will hover above you and start shooting. Do not bother with the rockets; just use a sniper rifle and shoot its belly twice.

Destroying SCUDs

On levels such as SCUD Alley, if you have run out of rockets, C4 and grenades, due to unexpected tanks, etc., SCUDs can be destroyed with the Bradley's grenade launcher or by machine gunning them.

Destroying tanks

When you see a tank (for example, the one directly in front of you at the start of Scud Alley), take two people, Foley and Jones. Have Foley shoot out the gunner. The turret should then rotate a full 360 degrees as if it were checking where the shot came from. At this point, switch to Jones and run straight at the tank. It is essential that you reach the tank as soon as possible. As soon as you reach it, lay down. Foley should snipe off the advancing soldiers. As you are behind the tank, they do not hit you and instead cause damage to the tank. Plant a C4 and detonate it. Just let Jones blow up with it. Jones will be dead on the floor behind a tank (in cover, which is useful). At this point, switch to Bradley and have everyone follow him. Rush forward using the tank for cover, shooting as you run then heal Jones. This trick can be used for just about any tank, even moving ones. Just run up behind them, fire a shot at the back of them and they will stop, allowing you to plant the explosive. To kill tanks easily, equip a mine and plant it directly in front of it. Note: You will die doing this; make sure you have another soldier ready to heal you.

Guns

It is best to save all guns for fights against multiple enemies or an exceptionally tough enemy. Particularly weak enemies can be finished off with a combination of the Taser and kicks instead.

Big melee weapons

To use big melee weapons effectively, practice hanging back, then veering ahead far enough to hit your enemy with your weapon. Then, drift back. This makes the most of your weapons' superior reach and keeps you away from your opponents' faster weapons.

Strategic dropping

Drop important weapons and tools near distinctive objects or in easy-to-find spots. By doing this, you will not have to search for them later.

Unlimited Firestorm Wall

This trick allows a fully charged Firestorm Wall to last indefinitely without having to turn it off to recharge. First, fully charge your Firestorm Wall and turn it on. Then before it turns off or runs out of power, sell or turn off your power plants until the message "On Hold" appears in the Firestorm Icon. Your Firestorm Wall will now remain on indefinitely unless you build or turn on your power plants. Note: This trick works with the original, unpatched game. However, this trick does not work in the patched versions of the game.

Hints

Hijacking vehicles

Take a Mutant Hijacker into a city, find a car, truck or a bus, and select it. Then you will have control over the vehicle. They can be used as transports.

Control NOD ore processor and mining vehicle

Note: Try this trick on the "Destroy Chemical Tanks" GDI mission. Position an engineer next to the NOD ore processor and wait for the mining vehicle to dock with the structure before capturing it. You will get control of the building and the vehicle.

Kill a Cyborg Commando in with one hit

Note: This trick requires the ability to build a GDI Firestorm Wall Generator and Firestorm Wall sections. Fortify your base and develop it until you have the option to build a Firestorm Wall and sections. Then, build Firestorm Walls across any sections where an enemy can get into your base. When a Cyborg Commando is over one of those sections, turn on the Firestorm Wall Generator to kill it easily.

Baby Visceriods

Order an infantry unit into tiberium until the soldiers die to create baby Visceroids. Note: The Visceroids are not friendly after becoming adults.

Adult Visceroids

When playing as NOD, launch a chemical weapon into the enemy base that has a lot of surrounding population. The people will die and turn into adult Visceroids, which will then destroy the base. They are even a threat if the enemy has an Obelisk Of Light.

Easy building capture and profit

When playing as NOD, purchase some subterranean APCs and fill them with engineers and a Cyborg Commando. Take the APCs within their base and pop up next to something important (GDI Upgrade Center, Tiberium Refinery, etc.). Have your engineers pour out and have them take it over. The commando will protect the building that you capture. Should he fail, sell the building for an easy profit.

Winning with an air assault

The easiest way towards victory using an air assault is to take out the SAM sites. However, when you bomb SAM sites they just re-appear. When playing as NOD, purchase some subterranean APCs and fill them with engineers. Send them to the opposing teams base maker, take over the base maker, and quickly sell it. If the other team is NOD, you will first have to disable their power plants.

Easy way to destroy enemies

Build a Tiberium Waste Facility and a Missle Silo. Then when your Chemical Missile is ready, wait for your Tiberium Waste Facility to fill up again. When it does, fire your Multi-Missle at your opponent's Construction Yard, which should destroy it. Then, fire your Chemical Missile at the Weapons factory. It may not be destroyed, but you will have another Chemical Missile ready. Also fire that missile at the Weapons Factory, which should finish its destruction. The enemy cannot build any more, or build vehicles. The Chemical Missile should make all surrounding troops Viceroids. The Viceroids will destroy most of the surviving buildings.

Protection from NOD ballistic missiles

For GDI commanders, the Firestorm Wall can be used as protection against NOD ballistic missiles. The walls should be placed above the base and/or in the general direction of the enemy base. They can have spaces in between to save on power and money. The Firestorm building should be fully charged. Turn on the wall when you hear the "missile launch detected" warning. If you have nothing else to do, you can watch the missile dissipate in the Firestorm Wall. Note: This was done with a base at the bottom of the map. It may work differently if your base is elsewhere. Also, do not send your aircraft through the Firestorm Wall while it is activated because they will be automatically be destroyed.

Tiberium vein damage

Tiberium veins will damage most vehicles, except for the following: NOD Buggy, Wolverine and Hover MLRS. This makes them excellent units for scouting vein areas. Veins also have no effect on infantry and Harvesters.

Use a text editor to edit the "svrcfg_skirmish.ini" file in the "\westwood\renegade\data" directory. Change the "gametime" value to zero to remove the time limit. You can also edit the amount of staring money.

Extra units in multi-player mode

In multi-player practice or non-laddered mode, you can get extra units for characters and vehicles by pressing [F8] and typing "extras fnkqrrm" or "extras quantifigon" (in the unpatched version). If you entered the code correctly, the message "Extras enabled" will appear. Go to the Purchase Terminal and hold [Alt] the entire time that you are looking for something to buy. There should be four new characters and two new vehicles for each side. For GDI, the new characters are General Locke, Elana Petrova, Logan, and Lieutenant Maus and vehicles are a sedan and pickup truck. For NOD, the new characters are mutants, a chef, Mutated Petrova, and Kane. Note: You will only see the new units. Release [Alt] to see the normal units. This will not work in a laddered game.

Easily selecting units

When you have many units of soldiers or vehicles, first select all the units. Then, press [Ctrl] and a number (0 to 9) to find the selected unit.

Prevent enemy from passing with Americans

When playing as the Americans, put six Rocket Soldiers and four Snipers inside a building. They will stop any enemy movement nearby, even the helicopter combat drop. The Rockets Soldiers will tear any vehicle and airship, while snipers take out Soldiers. You can use this to defend your base or specific places.

Helicopter pilots always eject with Americans

If you are playing as the Americans and a ranked (veteran, elite, or heroic) helicopter gets shot down, you can force the pilot to eject. Quickly use the green drag-box to attempt to select the helicopter as it is falling out of the sky. You will not actually select the crashing aircraft, but the pilot should eject every time.

Two armies for the price of one with GLA

Use Jarrem Kell to kill the driver of an USA or China Construction Dozer. Then, send a soldier or Jarrem inside the dozer. You will be able to construct all the installations of that army.

Allied artillery

Use the Strategy Center's Bombardment. It will be same as the Artillery. Note: If you shoot very close to the Strategy Center, it cannot fire.

Flying man

Destroy one of the GLA's assault trucks (Technicals) and the rebel in the back will go flying. Note: Sometimes the rebel can get hit when falling if there area lot of Technicals, however this is rare.

Note: This was done with the v1.4 patch. You can increase the amount of Tiberium you can have without the Tiberium Silos. When it asks you to build a Tiberium Silo, just build something, and when it completes just cancel (preferably something expensive like a Tech Center). Rush tactic

This trick is useful for versus online multiplayer matches with 10,000. Play as Nod or GDI, and place a Crane. Then, build a Power Plant from each, and place them. Once this is done, build two Refineries, and place them. Next, sell one, and build another. On the other, build queue. Start building a war factory. Place it, and start to build another one. Make sure you have placed your second Refinery. Then, build two Harvesters from your War Factory. In the meantime, build Refineries and a Comm Center. The moment your Harvesters are done, start building as many Scorpion Tanks as possible. Place other War Factories and Power Plants as well to boost production. It is also helpful to place an anti-infantry base defenses near your MCV to stop the "Engineer rush" tactic. However, this uses power and is not necessary. This tactic works best on Redzone Rampage since each player starts with boosts resources as the blue Tiberium. Nod is the fastest since it has the quickest build speeds. Also, build Predators instead of Scorpions. As soon as possible, place the Tech Center, and upgrade tanks with either Laser Capacitors or Rail Guns. This will not always work, especially when you face upper level players in the higher ranks. However, it is possible to finish a battle in less than ten minutes with this tactic. It works best with 10,000, but can be done with more; however, it is harder as the opposition will have stronger weapons than you. It works well with 20 as you can use shortcuts and an extra Crane to boost production and speed of rush.

Play as NOD in Skirmish mode (demo version)

At the Skirmish options menu, hold N and click your army to unlock NOD as a selectable option. To switch back to GDI, hold G and click your army. This also works for the CPU army.

Cheap construction

Begin building a structure without enough money for completion. Then before construction stops, press R to surrender due to lack of money, but do not complete the surrender command.
